1. Acceptance and eligibility
By downloading or using Family Ready, you agree to these Terms and Apple’s applicable standard licensed-application terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to enter this agreement or use Family Ready with authorization from a person who can.
2. Accounts and security
Some features require an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your device, Apple Account, sign-in credentials, recovery codes and account access, and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access. Do not share sign-in tokens or recovery codes through insecure channels.
3. Permitted use
You may use Family Ready for lawful personal, family, caregiving and household-planning purposes. You may not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with operation, probe security, distribute malware, impersonate another person, abuse invitations, scrape the service, reverse engineer where prohibited, or use Family Ready to violate another person’s rights.
4. User-entered information and accuracy
You control the information you enter and are responsible for its lawfulness, accuracy, completeness and currency. You are responsible for reviewing emergency information regularly and independently verifying important details. Family Ready does not verify user-entered information and does not guarantee that it is complete or current.
5. Family and trusted-person sharing
You must have a lawful basis and appropriate permission to enter or share another person’s information. Select recipients carefully and review permissions before inviting them. Recipients may retain printed, exported, photographed or downloaded copies. Revocation cannot remotely erase those copies.
6. Free and paid features
Core Emergency Card, local plan editing, Emergency Mode, selected offline tools and encrypted backup functionality are available without a Plus subscription. Family Ready Plus provides optional ongoing collaboration, review, reminder, plan-maintenance and additional export tools. Features may evolve, but changes will not intentionally make existing locally saved emergency information inaccessible solely because a subscription ends.
7. Subscriptions, billing and trials
- Monthly and annual Family Ready Plus subscriptions are billed through your Apple Account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Apple at least 24 hours before the current period ends, subject to Apple’s displayed terms.
- Apple shows the localized price, billing period and any eligible introductory offer before confirmation. Do not rely on prices stated outside Apple’s purchase sheet.
- If Apple confirms a free trial, billing begins when the trial ends unless cancelled under Apple’s displayed terms. Eligibility is determined by Apple.
- Cancellation generally leaves Plus available until Apple’s verified entitlement expiration. Deleting the app or a Family Ready account does not by itself cancel an Apple subscription.
- Use Restore Purchases in the app to ask Apple and RevenueCat to reconcile an eligible purchase.
- Refund requests are handled through Apple where applicable; the developer does not promise or directly control refunds.
8. Third-party services
Family Ready depends on Apple, RevenueCat, authentication, backend, hosting and optional file-storage services. Their terms, privacy policies, availability and decisions also apply to their services. Family Ready is not responsible for third-party services beyond what applicable law requires.
9. Intellectual property and feedback
Family Ready, its branding and original software or content are owned by the developer or applicable licensors. These Terms grant a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the app under Apple’s licensed-application terms. If you provide feedback, you permit the operator to use it without obligation, while you retain rights in your personal information and user-entered content.
10. Suspension, termination and deletion
Access may be limited or terminated for unlawful use, abuse, security threats or material breach, subject to applicable law. You may stop using Family Ready and use in-app deletion. Account deletion does not cancel Apple subscriptions or erase copies already exported or held by other users. Certain processor records may remain where legally or operationally required.
11. Service availability
Family Ready may be unavailable because of maintenance, outages, device limitations, battery state, network conditions, operating-system changes, permission settings, account issues or third-party services. No uninterrupted uptime is guaranteed. Delivery of reminders, invitations, notifications, messages or synchronization is not guaranteed. Maintain independent copies of information you cannot afford to lose.
12. No professional or emergency service
Family Ready is an organization and information-sharing tool. It is not an emergency-response service and does not monitor emergencies or automatically contact responders. It does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment, and does not provide medical, legal, insurance, financial or other professional advice. Contact the appropriate local emergency number in an emergency and consult qualified professionals for advice.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Family Ready is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, suitable for every purpose, or that user-entered information or notifications will be accurate, complete, current or delivered. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, or loss of data, profits or opportunities, arising from use or inability to use Family Ready. Any lawful aggregate liability cap, exclusions and exceptions require jurisdiction-specific legal review. Liability is not limited where doing so is prohibited, including for rights or conduct that cannot legally be excluded.
15. Reasonable indemnity
Where lawful and reasonable, you agree to be responsible for third-party claims caused by your intentional unlawful misuse of Family Ready, violation of another person’s rights, or knowing unauthorized sharing of their information. This does not apply to claims caused by the operator’s own conduct and does not remove non-waivable consumer rights.
16. Consumer rights
Mandatory consumer protections remain in effect. These Terms do not waive rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
17. Changes, severability and entire agreement
Terms may be updated when the service or law changes, with notice where required. If one provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues to the extent permitted. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, Safety Disclaimer and Apple’s applicable licensed-application terms form the agreement for use of Family Ready unless additional terms are expressly accepted.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence, and otherwise the law of the developer's principal place of residence. Mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live are not displaced by this clause.
If you have a concern, contact ran.gray.james@gmail.com first so we can try to resolve it informally. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally may be brought before the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law. These Terms do not impose forced arbitration, a class-action waiver or a jury-trial waiver.
